Sir Prize comes from a University of California breeding program. This variety is more prolific and cold-resistant than the popular Hass. It produces delicious, buttery avocados that mature early. Dark green skin turns purplish-black as the fruit ripens after harvest. Self-fertile type-B flowers; planting a complementary variety such as Hass or Lamb Hass may increase fruit set and extend the harvest season.
