Known to be hardy and grows aggressively this fruiting variety of passionflower is a real winner. The flowers are fairly fragrant, hence the name “incense” and would be a great vine to have near heavily trafficked parts of your garden. The green fruit also tends to have a stronger floral scent to it than other edible fruiting passionflower. Once roots established from occasional deep watering it can handle freezes with no problem. It is important to note, expect passionflowers to typically die back over winter and grow back each spring. The vines can handle some training but prefer to grow freely and sprawl; compact growth tends to inhibit flowering and fruiting. They can grow in half-day to full sun.
